10 Unique Telegram Features You Should Try
Telegram is a messaging app, but there’s so much more to it than simply sending and receiving messages. It has some cool features that are all its own, which set it apart from other messaging apps, like WhatsApp.

1. Edit and Replace Pictures After Sending Them
Have you ever sent a picture only to realize it’s the wrong one? If you’re in this camp–aren’t we all? Luckily, you can edit or change your photos after sending them in Telegram.
Telegram’s editing feature might not be as advanced as a dedicatedphoto editing app on your iPhone, but it’s impressive nonetheless. you’re able to adjust your photo in several ways; cropping, adjusting sharpness, contrast, and saturation, applying shadows and highlights, adding stickers and text, and more.

To edit or replace a photo in Telegram on Android, tap and hold the photo, tap thepencilbutton, then selectEdit this photoorReplace photo. On an iPhone, tap and hold the photo, then tapEdit. Next, tap the button beside the message box and selectChange Photo or VideoorEdit Current Photo.
2. Edit Videos
Thanks to its video editing feature, you can use your basic video editing skills with Telegram. To edit a video, select one to send and tweak it in the video editor that appears. There’s a decent set of editing tools in the in-app editor. You can crop or flip, adjust brightness or warmth, do some color correction, and even alter the quality of your video. Not bad for a messaging app.
Video editing and replacement aren’t limited to videos you want to send. You can also edit or replace videos you’ve already sent. To edit or replace a video in Telegram on Android, tap and hold the video, then selectEdit this videoorReplace video. On an iPhone, tap and hold the video, then tap the button beside the message box. Next, chooseChange Photo or Video, orEdit Current Video.

3. Set Your Telegram Account to Self-Destruct
You may be aware that you canself-destruct messages in Telegram, but did you know it’s possible to also set your Telegram account to self-destruct after a specified amount of time? This is useful if you’re worried about security and don’t want to bother with manually deleting your Telegram.
You can set your Telegram to delete after a period of inactivity of one month, three months, six months, or one year. If you don’t sign into your Telegram within that period, your account will self-destruct once the time elapses.

To set your Telegram account to self-destruct, go toSettings>Privacy and Security>Delete my account>Automatically Delete My Accountand choose a duration.
4. Save Your Chats in Folders

5. Delete Messages at Any Time
Wouldn’t it be nice if you could take back things you’ve said long after you’ve said them? Well, with Telegram, you can do just that. You can delete messages no matter how long ago you sent them, even if they’ve already been read.
Telegram also lets you delete messages others send, which is useful if you don’t want to see certain messages or are concerned about prying eyes. Interestingly, you can delete others' messages for them as well. We’re unsure when you might need this feature, but it’s good to know it exists.

To delete a message in Telegram, tap and hold the message, then tapDelete. On Android, selectAlso delete for Xand tap delete. On an iPhone, depending on who you’re deleting it for, you’ll choose eitherDelete for meorDelete for me and X. The message will disappear without a trace, so the other person won’t even realize what you’ve done.

6. Send Silent Messages
You don’t have to worry about possibly disturbing someone who’s working, studying, or sleeping when you send them a message on Telegram, thanks to the app’s Silent Messages feature. This feature lets you send messages that won’t make a sound or a vibration even if the other person hasn’t enabledDo Not Disturb modeon their device.
To send silent messages, type your message, then tap and hold theSendbutton. SelectSend Without Sound, and that’s it.
7. Schedule Messages
If you’re worried about sending a message later or forgetting to send one, you can schedule it on Telegram. To do so, type a message, tap and hold thesendbutton, then select the date and time. With this feature, you won’t have to worry about forgetting to message someone on an important occasion, like a birthday or anniversary.
8. Translate Messages

To translate a message in Telegram, tap it (Android) or tap and hold it (iPhone), then tapTranslate. If you’re an iPhone user, you can copy translations, listen to them, and change the language in which they appear.
The Telegram translator tool is available for all Android users, while iPhone users can only use it if their devices run iOS 15 and higher.
9. Find People Nearby
Telegram lets you add people who are nearby by sharing your live location. Like you, they also have to be using the People Nearby feature. You’ll be visible to each other if you use the feature, and you can tap on their name to add them. You don’t have to share your phone number, which is a plus.

10. Limit the Number of Group Messages With Slow Mode
Many of us have experienced the annoying situation of being bombarded with messages in group chats. If you’re a group admin on Telegram, you can fix the issue with Slow Mode. Slow Mode limits the number of messages each group member can send in a group within a certain period to just one.
To enable Slow Mode, tap on the group name, thenEdit(the pencil button, if you use Android), thenPermissions. UnderSlow Mode, choose the time that must elapse before group members can send messages. You can choose between 10 seconds and 1 hour.
