Summary

Netflix’sA Good Girl’s Guide to Murderseason 1 leaves some questions unanswered that could help establish a throughline and potential plot if the series receives a second season.Emma Myers’ new popular murder mystery serieshas quickly become a hit thanks to the strong acting, the exploration of teenage girlhood, and the well-developed mystery. However, by the end of the season, they wrap up most aspects of the main mystery. The murderers of Andie Bell and Sal Singh are uncovered thanks to the investigative skills of Pip and Sal’s brother Ravi. 8Will Max Get Charged With Rape?

Max Raped Becca Bell But Wasn’t Charged

One majordeviation from the bookA Good Girl’s Guide to Murderby Holly Jackson is the fact that Max doesn’t get arrested for rape in the Netflix series. In the novel, Max Hastings immediately gets charged with four counts of sexual assault and two counts of rape for his crimes. However, the show doesn’t completely ignore the crime. At the end of the series,Pip promises to make sure all of Max’s victims get justice for his crimes. This sets up a potential throughline forA Good Girl’s Guide to Murderseason 2, which hasn’t been confirmed but seems likely based on the positive reviews.

The second season could delve further into the drug trade and crimes of Max, either as a main plotline or as a secondary storyline. The former would be a significant change from the second book, but the first season already made daring changes. However, the latter option would help keep fans of the book invested in the show.

7Who Exactly Is Isla In A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder?

Isla’s Life Prior To Her Kidnapping Is A Mystery

One of the more disturbing elements ofA Good Girl’s Guide to Murder’s ending is the teenage girl trapped in the attic of Elliot Ward’s old house. Pip discovers Isla, who has been trapped in the attic for years. The show answers significant questions like why Elliot kidnapped her, how she got to the house, and why she was stuck there. However, it doesn’t provide context about who she is as a person.

The most that’s known about her life is that she was living out near the old bus stationwhen Elliot mistook her for Andie. Her phrasing implies that she had a rough life, though that’s never elaborated on. Not much else is known about Isla as a person or her life before meeting Elliot. Season 2 ofA Good Girl’s Guide to Murdercould explore her further, integrate her into the main cast, or possibly even connect the next mystery to her in some way.

6Does Pip Go To Cambridge?

Pip’s Mom Encourages Her To Do Whatever She Wants To Do

In the first episode ofA Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, Pip’s mom pushes her towards attending Cambridge for university because that’s where her father went. She preps for her Cambridge interview and does the test necessary to get in. However, by the end ofA Good Girl’s Guide to Murderseason 1, Pip becomes confused about whether she actually wants to attend Cambridge for herself or if she’s only doing it because that’s what her mom wants.

The first season cuts off before her official Cambridge interview, leaving the question open-ended about whether she gets into the university, let alone decides to attend. If Netflix picks upA Good Girl’s Guide to Murderseason 2, this could have massive implications for the show because Pip has just initiated a romance with Ravi. Unless he goes with her, this could put the two in a long-distance relationship. It would also take her away from the town where the second book takes place.

5Will Max Retaliate Against Pip For Threatening Him?

Max Has Shown A Tendency Towards Violence

At theend ofA Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, Pip threatens Max that she won’t stop investigating and trying to reveal the truth until all his victims get justice. Based on the fact that Max is a schmuck who drugs girls, rapes them, hides a drunk driving accident, and lies to the police,it isn’t too far of a stretch to believe that Max would find a way to retaliate against Pip for the threat.

It’s easy to believe he would hurt her or use his connections in the police to set her up for a crime. It would be shocking if he just brushed it off. He might be cocky, but he’s also dangerous. Hopefully,A Good Girl’s Guide to Murdergets a second season where they continue Max’s and Pip’s story, eventually ending with his punishment for rape.

4Will Dan Da Silva Get Exposed For Covering Up The Car Accident?

Pip Discovers That Dan Covered Up Max’s Drunk Driving Accident

Halfway throughA Good Girl’s Guide to Murderseason 1, Pip learns that Sal’s friends lied about his alibi because they received a note threatening to reveal information about the drunk driving accident they were in. Pip pieces together the fact that the officer who covered up the car accident was Nat’s brother, Dan Da Silva.

However, Pip doesn’t come forward with the evidence about Sal’s alibi because it would implicate Naomi Ward for lying, which could send her to jail. However,it seems implausible that this information will stay hidden forever if the police re-evaluate the evidence to corroborate Pip’s findings.

Plus, if the police acknowledge that Becca killed Andie, they will need to look at the witnesses who lied anyway.A Good Girl’s Guide to Murderseason 2 needs to further explore Dan Da Silva’s corrupt behavior and whether his crimes get exposed – whether that be the car accident or the other unnamed crimes he covered up at the behest of Max.

3Did Becca Get Arrested For Killing Andie?

Becca Is Never Shown Getting Arrested

DespitePip’s age inA Good Girl’s Guide to Murderseason 1, Pip finally learns the truth about Andie’s death by the end of the season. After returning home, Andie told Becca that she was leaving the next day, causing them to get into a fight. Becca pushed her sister, causing her to hit her head. Becca initially seems sympathetic during this interaction, leading Pip to trust her. During her confession, Becca offers to take Pip to the place where she left Andie’s body.

This leads to the climax, where Ravi and Cara save Pip at the last moment. Interestingly, after they save her,Becca isn’t ever shown getting arrested. Ravi mentions the police are outside, but she could have escaped. While it doesn’t necessarily need to be a focus of the plot,A Good Girl’s Guide to Murderseason 2 needs to confirm whether Becca actually gets arrested for killing Andie.

2Who Killed Barney In A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder?

Pip Doesn’t Have Proof Becca Sent The Threatening Texts

One of the most heartbreaking and difficult moments inA Good Girl’s Guide to Murderseason 1 is when Pip searches for her beloved dog Barney, only to find him dead on the side of the road. The most likely culprit for the murder is whoever sent the text messages – presumed to be Becca. There’s just one problem.

With the threatening notes, Pip finds indisputable proof that Elliot wrote them.Pip never actually finds proof that Becca wrote the text messages or killed her dog.Considering she confronted the supplier earlier at the Calamity party about Andie’s drug dealing, it’s plausible he could have been the one wanting her to stop investigating the murder since it could have brought more awareness to his crimes and business.

The texts could have also come from Max since he knew that her continuing to dig would either reveal the drunk driving accident or uncover his rape of Becca. The language in the texts matches up with the way he speaks to Pip. Ultimately, it would be nice to get clarification about what actually happened to Barney, since the death was so emotional to watch.

1Was Someone Following Pip Through The Woods?

A Sound In The Woods Hints That Someone Is Following Pip

When Pip goes out to look for Barney, her mom and brother return to the house. Then, her dad and she split up to cover more ground. While walking through a wooded area, she hears a noise which the captions describe as “twigs snapping nearby.”However, when she looks over her shoulder, she sees nothing.

The big mystery that remains unsolved at this moment inA Good Girl’s Guide to Murderis whether someone is following her through the woods and, if so, who. Because it’s nature, there’s always the possibility that the noise could’ve been an animal. When it comes to people following her, the only suspect that we can conclusively rule out when it comes to following her is Elliot, because he was out of town when Barney was murdered.

If Becca thought Pip knew the information about how Andie died, she would be the most likely person to follow her through the woods inAGood Girl’s Guide to Murderseason 1. However, without knowing exactly who sent the threatening texts and who killed Barney, it’s impossible to know who would have a reason to follow her through the woods while she’s looking for Barney.
