Alien: Rogue Incursionis shaping up to be an utterly horrifying VR game andSurvios has finally revealed when players can expect to take on a Xenomorph in VR.The announcement trailer forRogue Incursionmanaged to leave a lasting impression on the community as its tense, claustrophobic environments and chilling rendition of the titular creature quickly generated a great deal of hype. It remains to be seen whether the VR game can stick the landing but players won’t need to wait too much longer to find out.

To further tease fans, the new footage shares some more insight into the story asit sets up protagonist Zula’s crash-landing on the infamous LV-426 and her subsequent battle against the creaturesthat call the planet home. It’s all the classic elements players might expect from anAliengame, including a nest, an evil corporation (most likely Weyland-Yutani), and plenty of hungry Xenos.

What Can Players Expect From Alien: Rogue Incursion?

Survios promises that it’s gone the extra mile to makeRogue Incursiona faithful adaptation of theAlienuniverse, butdespite the name, players should brace for multiple Xenomorphs. There will be an emphasis on using various tools like a Plasma Torch to sneak around the Gemini Exoplanet Solutions research facility but when the going gets tough, a Pulse Rifle will save the day. Combat is seemingly dynamic and can be triggered (or avoided) based on players' actions, so it’ll pay to sneak and hide from enemies rather than going in guns blazing, even though that is an option.

Takinga page out ofAlien: Isolation’s book, theXenomorphs are described as being intelligent adversaries that will strategize and work togetherto overwhelm Zula. Rather than simply charging at the protagonist, they can organize flanking routes to get the jump on her, so players need to be aware of their surroundings. Firepower alone isn’t enough to win this fight:Wits, reflexes, and resourcefulnesswill culminate in victory.

Nothing Scarier Than A Xenomorph IN VR

It pains me that I don’t have access to a VR headset because I would love to experienceAlien: Rogue Incursionwhen it arrives in December.Virtual reality and horror is a match made in heavenand when it’s brought together with my favorite franchise, it’s disappointing that I won’t be able to play it any time soon. Those who can seem like they’re in for a great timeand I can only express how jealous I am.
