The final trailer forAlien: Romulusis just the latest piece of marketing for the movie highlighting howit returns to the franchise’s horror roots. The latestAlienmovieis from Álvarez, known for directing 2013’sEvil Deadand the 2016 horror filmDon’t Breathe, and he was specifically selected to bring his signature style toRomulus. Additionally, he co-write the script with his frequent collaborator, Rodo Sayagues.Romulusis also produced by Ridley Scott, who directed the originalAlien, and the later prequels,PrometheusandAlien: Covenant.

WhileJames Cameron’sAlienswas a sci-fi action film and Scott’s later prequels focused more on mythology,Romulusis a return to the franchise’s horror roots. Like the originalAlien,Romulusreturns to the claustrophobic confines of a spaceship. As shown in the final trailer, there are facehuggers aplenty, making for a tense and terrifying chase sequence. There is also truly horrifying moment involving Wu’s character, Navarro, and a chestburster, recreating the iconic moment from the original movie.
