Summary
Larian Studios, the developer ofBaldur’s Gate 3, seemingly thought of just about every possible outcome and solution for players to come across in the game. But every once in a while, players still uncoverlittle pieces of dialogue thathaven’t been seen before. Unfortunately, not all of them make complete sense.
Reddit user1337_420_69shared a short video clip of Minthara talking with the cultists found near the owlbear cave in Act 1. After they make their alliance with the cult known and run off, Minthara’s voice actor, Emma Gregory, clearly says, “True Souls? Absolute? What are they raving on about?” This rare piece of dialogue from Minthara is odd, particularly because she is first encountered in the game as a devout worshiper of the Absolute, organizing the goblins to attack the druids in her mission for the cult.

The user also shared a screenshot of Minthara confronting Warrior Trinzas at the Goblin camp, where the NPC comments “Guessin' you’re after Minthara. Could be ‘er blood by the looks of you.” Minthara then has the option to say thatshe has an audience with the Drow, despite being said Drow. While the non-voiced dialogue can be explained, this rarely-heard line has plenty of players scratching their heads as to how it could be possible.
Baldur’s Gate 3: How To Romance Minthara
Minthara is a ruthless Drow leader who you can surprisingly romance in Baldur’s Gate 3, as long as your character fights within a deadly goblin raid.
Some Players Theorize Minthara May Have Originally Been An Origin Companion
How To Get Minthara To Go Back To Act 1 As A Companion
Minthara isn’t actually arecruitable companion until Act 2, and though parts of Act 1 are available to players up until a certain point in their playthrough,Minthara will typically flat-out refuse to accompany the player. When this happens, she’ll return to camp, leaving the player to forge ahead alone. However, as OP pointed out in the comments on their post, casting the spell Silence on her prevents her from complaining, essentially allowing the player to tote her back to Act 1.
The Reddit user accomplished this by bypassing most of the content in Act 1 and going straight to the Mountain Pass, allowing them to navigate their way to Moonrise Towers quickly and find her to recruit. Though this does have some serious consequences, such as killing all of the tieflings attempting to leave the grove, those who have spent most of their playthrough hours combing through Act 1 may not find this as hard of a move to make. This seems to be the only way to unlock these dialogue options.

10 Tiny Decisions In Baldur’s Gate 3 That Have Huge Story Implications
Baldur’s Gate 3 is filled with choices big and small, but some of the tiniest decisions can lead to story-changing outcomes, both good and bad.
Though this hasn’t been confirmed by Larian Studios, some have speculated that Minthara was another possible Origin character, which would explain some of the early lines of dialogue still included in the game. Though the studio ultimately decided to make her a foe with a possible redemption arc, giving her a more interesting (and somewhat evil) storyline, it seems there are still trace interactions that hint at something more for the former Absolute cultist.

Though much ofBaldur’s Gate 3includes details that make it seem as though Larian Studios thought of just about every possibility,it’s possible there are trace pieces from unfinished or scrapped ideas that still made it into the final game.Plenty of players have clocked hundreds of hours into the title and are slowly uncovering them as they see what other wacky and out-of-the-box solutions they can implement.
