Facewear is a new cosmetic option inFinal Fantasy 14: Dawntrail. It allows you to customize your glasses and other facial equipment better, including spectacles or monocles. It is a brand-new equipment slot, though none of these items have combat stats.
While accessing the feature is fast and simple, you must find and purchase the eyewear. This could include needing a lot ofGil fast inFF14or other currency to buy it outright. How To Unlock and Use Facewear
A New Equipment Option
The facewear slot technicallyautomatically unlocksfor any players who have patched the game up to 7.0, the full release ofFinal Fantasy 14: Dawntrail. This can even include those still playing through themassive free trial. However,the menu will be empty until you own at least one pair of glasses.
Once you own some Eyewear, open thecharacter equipmentmenu. The eyewear slot is on the lower left,directly underneath the feet slot. This will show the Facewear menu, where you can pick out your equipment and dye it various colors.
You can even use this menu in instanced content, like a dungeon or raid. However, like all equipment, to switch,you need to be currently out of combat.
How To Purchase New Facewear
Glasses Must Be Bought or Converted
As mentioned, the Facewear menu will be barren until you first own some glasses. These can be old ones gained during previous expansions or new options available only inDawntrail. For the former, you may need to see an NPC to make them compatible with the new system.
Converting Obsolete Gear
Some of the current facewear used to actually be headgear back inFinal Fantasy 14: Endwalker. This includes prizes from victories inFF14’s PvP modes. If you still have items in the incorrect equipment category, visit aCalamity Salvagerin any of the three main cities. At the bottom of their menu, there will bean option to convert everything to facewear.

Brand New Glasses
You may be a player who never owned any facewear in the first place. In this case, you will need to seek out various merchants inFinal Fantasy 14:Dawntrail. But keep in mind that most of these can also bedirectly purchased on the market boards. But, the player-controlled economy can result in some outrageous prices.
