Even though the iPad is wildly popular, there are many great apps that can’t natively be used on the larger tablet screen. But it’s time for Snapchat fans to rejoice. With the most recent update on the App Store, the app can now run optimized on the tablet.

Optimized for the Big Screen

Head to the App Store to update thefree Snapchat appto version 13.4.0.41 to use the social network on the big screen.

Here’s more from the release notes:

Snapchat now offers native support for iPad! This means that Snapchat will fill an iPad’s full screen, providing you with a larger canvas when capturing Snaps and allowing you to see more friends on the 2nd and 4th tabs.

It’s still the same Snapchat you know and love, but this time on the big screen!

snapchat running natively on an iPad

I downloaded the app to my iPad and was really happy to see Snapchat filling the entire screen.

You’ll still hold your iPad vertically just like your iPhone. When taking a photo, it’s nice to see more of the image. It’s also great to use the larger screen when viewing Stories and Highlights.

The app ran well on my older iPad. And I can see more users enjoying the social network, especially when they are at home using their tablets.

Snapchat has continued to add a wide variety of features to attract users. For example, there are ahost of generative AI featuresthat you’re able to use on the social network.

There is also a subscription available, Snapchat+, that provides a wealth ofexclusive features like custom story expiration and story timestamps.

What App Should Next Arrive for the iPad?

With Snapchat finally making its way to the iPad, there are a still a number of popular third-party apps that aren’t natively available on the tablet.

One of the biggest names that I’d like to eventually see land natively on the tablet is Instagram. I’ve always wanted to view the great pictures on the larger iPad screen. But I’m not holding my breath as Meta apparently has more pressing matters to attend to.
