With two months to go until its release, members of the press share their first reactions toTransformers One. The Hollywood Handlenotes that though the start of the movie “may feel slow,” overall,Transformers Oneis an “awesome, action-packed adventure!” They also give special praise to Hemsworth for his vocal performance.
Shaye the Acolytehad similar misgivings about the beginning ofTransformers One,but confirmed that it later becomes a “badassatron origin story,” offering extra kudos to Key and Henry.
Germain Lussiercalled the movie “FREAKING AWESOME,” and declared that it “honors the legacy of the franchise while also expanding and elevating it.”
Matt Negliatook a very positive stance, declaring it to be “far and away the best Transformers film to date.” He confirmed that theTransformers Onetrailerhas not done it justice.
@Drokcomedyadmitted to being surprised that the movie is “excellent,” and, like Neglia, referenced the pushback against the trailer by saying, “Don’t let the trailer fool you, this movie absolutely RULES.”
Perri NemiroffpraisedTransformers One’s animation style, writing, “Great balance of CG vibrancy with texture and detail. I especially kept getting hooked on shots of the characters aboveground with those stunning landscape backgrounds.”
Wilsonof Black Film and TV wrote that “Chris Hemsworth and Brian Tyree Henry bring life to the characters we grew to love and hate!” He also confirmed he intends to see it “again and again.”
Brandon Slaglewas similarly amazed at howTransformers Oneis better than its trailer, and even revealed, “People cheered Endgame style numbers times,” referencing the way Marvel’sAvengers: Endgamehad audiences reacting loudly in theaters.
Liam T. Crowleycommented on how the early screenings show Paramount is very confident in the movie, and “damn is it justified.” Crowley also declares it to be the “best Transformers theatrical experience I’ve had.”

However, the franchise’s future isn’t limited to animation, as a new movie set up byTransformers: Rise of the Beasts’ending is already in development.
ShouldTransformers Onelive up to the early praise and succeed at the box office, longtime franchise producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura already has a clear vision for further animated installments of the franchise. When unveiling details aboutTransformers Onein 2023, the producer revealed there had been discussions about expanding the prequel into a trilogy. While Hemsworth’s Orion Pax is still young and inexperiencedat the time ofTransformers One, di Bonaventura teased that he would grow into the character portrayed by Peter Cullen in the original movies, Optimus Prime.
However, the franchise’s future isn’t limited to animation, as a new movie set up byTransformers: Rise of the Beasts' endingis already in development. With theTransformersfranchise now sharing continuity with theG.I. Joefranchise, there are several more stories that could be told on the big screen. Derek Connolly is currently signed on to write the next live-actionTransformerssequel, with a potential 2026 release date planned.
With many celebratingTransformers Oneahead of time, good word of mouth could guarantee that the franchise’s first big-screen animated adventure since 1986’sTransformers: The Movieis a box office hit.
