Summary
As seen in newGenshin Impact5.0 leaks, a new character from Natlan may just match the strength of Neuvillette, currently considered one of the strongest DPS units in the game. Version 5.0 is expected to be the next patch after the end of Version 4.8. The patch, expected to arrive in late August, will bring forth the introduction of Natlan, also known as the Nation of Pyro in Teyvat. Before that, however, players will have to get through Version 4.8 and its contents. With therelease ofGenshin Impact4.8, players will get access to Emilie as a character.
Additionally, Version 4.8 will add a summer event that is expected to connect to Natlan to some extent. While a whole patch is still impeding players’ entrances into the Nation of War, a lot of information is being shared, both through official sources and leaks. Officially, developer HoYoverse has already teased dragon-like creatures known as Saurians that may be controllable, as well as three new playable characters arriving with Version 5.0. Leaks have detailed some of these characters’ abilities, weapons, and rarities, and a recent piece of information provides more insight into one of theNatlan characters inGenshin Impact.

Leaked Hydro Catalyst Girl In Genshin Impact 5.0 Shoots Homing Projectiles
The Character’s Constellations Have Also Leaked
According to information by the leaker Foul, which was shared in a post onReddit, the Hydro catalyst girl in Version 5.0 will shoot homing projectiles. Additionally, hitting three or more enemies with them will reduce the damage she causes. Furthermore, the leak details her rumored Constellations. C1 allegedly grants a stacking mechanic that boosts HP-scaling for her Normal Attacks and projectiles. C2 supposedly grants effects when stacking Sourcewater Droplets, while C4 seemingly boosts Burst DMG inGenshin Impact. The leaked C6 ensures that the HP-scaling in C1 is always active for Normal Attacks, without having to gain the stacks.
C3 and C5 are not mentioned in the leak as these Constellation levels only boost characters’ Normal Attacks, Skills, or Bursts by three levels.

Genshin Impact Character’s Rumored Debuff Could Be A Way Of Controlling Her High Damage Output
The New Natlan Character’s Damage Potential May Match Neuvillette’s Power
In a subsequent post onReddit, Foul provides clarification as to what they mean by the damage reduction that the character gains after her rumored homing projectiles hit three or more opponents. The leaker says that the damage reduction is applied to herself, meaningshe will be less effective when striking multiple enemies with her projectiles. Instead, it seems like she will be operating at her best when focusing on a single target, like aboss inGenshin Impact, for example.
As seen in the comment section for the second Reddit post, this damage reduction could be a way of narrowing down the Hydro catalyst character’s damage output. One user mentions that she could have very powerful modifiers, making her a nuke against single targets –the debuff would be a way of preventing her from being a nuke to both single targets and groups of enemies. The same user mentions that this could be a way of making her different from Neuvillette, even though their offensive powers may be comparable.
Additionally, Neuvillette is also a Hydro catalyst character.
For now, the leaks are very scarce and still early, and they should be taken with a grain of salt. Foul’s wording is somewhat enigmatic and details could be incorrect or subject to change ahead of launch. However, with the possibility of having a powerful new Hydro DPS focused on single targets, players may finally have a viable substitute for Neuvillette inGenshin Impact.
