X-Men Writers Gail Simone & Jed MacKay Hype Their Upcoming Books With A Friendly Rivalry

Who Got The Better Squad?

As much as Gail Simone and Jed MacKay might begrudgingly admit it, both their teams are equally stacked, and anticipation for both their newX-books is at a fever-pitch among readers.

To best determine which of these teams could be considered “better,” or acknowledged as “stronger”, it’s important to first break down each respective team, and how the roster fits together. First, on MacKay’s side, the X-Men are led by Cyclops, with a roster comprised of: Juggernaut, Psylocke, Magik, Beast, Temper, Magneto, and Kid Omega. This is unquestionably a powerhouse line-up, including two Omega-level mutants. While this is impressive, as far as star power goes, however, Gail Simone’sUncanny X-Mencould be said to have the edge.

Simone’s team, withRogue at the helm, includes: Gambit, Wolverine, Nightcrawler, and of course, Jubilee. By comparison, Simone’s team is much smaller than MacKay’s, but compensates by featuring an all-star cast of recognizable fan-favorites. Additionally, while there are no Omega mutants present on Rogue’s squad, like there are on the MacKay, this team does feature several of thestrongest individual X-members in Marvel history. In other words, as much as Gail Simone and Jed MacKay might begrudgingly admit it,both their teams are equally stacked, and anticipation for both their newX-books is at a fever-pitch among readers.
