Summary
Ghostsstar Utkarsh Ambudkar teased what could be the most exciting cameo of the series yet atSan Diego Comic-Con. The tease was prompted by a question during the TV Guide Fan Favorites panel, whichScreen Rantattended. The panel provided many fun reveals aboutGhostsand other ongoing TV shows. Ambudkar appeared ahead ofGhostsseason 4, which will return to CBS in the late fall on Thursday, October 17, at 8:30 pm Eastern. I was anticipating what would be revealed aboutGhostsat Comic-Con, and now I wish this perfect season 4 cameo could be official.
Ghostsbegan in 2021, based on a British series of the same name. Thehorror sitcom showfollows Rose McIver and Utkarsh Ambudkar as Samantha and Jay, who lived in New York City until they inherited a mansion. Samantha wakes up able to see all the ghosts that inhabit her house after a near-death experience where she falls down the stairs. The ghosts she meets comprise an eclectic cohort from various periods and cultural backgrounds.I have so far enjoyed the guest stars who entered the world of the dead inGhosts, and there is one that would be perfect if it happened.

Utkarsh Ambudkar Wants Lin-Manuel Miranda To Play Alexander Hamilton On Ghosts
Lin-Manuel Miranda Could Reprise His Role As Alexander Hamilton
When asked at the San Diego Comic-Con what dead historical figure he would want to appear inGhosts,Utkarsh Ambudkar first thought of the martial artist Bruce Lee, noting he is unsure about what he would be doing in New York. Ambudkar then suggested a cameo from a close friend, Lin-Manuel Miranda, as Hamilton.
Hamilton played by Lin-Manuel Miranda. I’ve asked him several times and he’s said no every time.

Utkarsh Ambudkar has known and worked with Miranda for years, so the actor appearing on the show isn’t a stretch of the imagination. As part of the cultural lexicon,I first heard of Lin-Manuel Miranda as the titular character in the award-winning Broadway musical he composed calledHamilton. In it,Miranda tells the true story of Alexander Hamiltonthrough music, and I sincerely appreciated the thorough research he did when bringing the story to life. As such, Lin-Manuel Miranda would not only be the perfect actor for the role but also bring a breadth of knowledge to the character.
Why Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Hamilton Would Be A Perfect Ghosts Cameo
Isaac Higgintoot Could Finally Face His Rival
Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Hamilton would make the perfectGhostscameobecause my favorite ghost in the series constantly references him. Brandon Scott Jones portraysCaptain Isaac Higgintoot inGhosts, the ghost of a Revolutionary War veteran and former member of the American Continental Congress who knew Alexander Hamilton personally. Higgintoot has an obsession with Hamilton that begins inGhostsseason 1, episode 2, “Hello!” When Isaac finds out that people"know about"Hamilton, he and Trevor search for him on the computer. Isaac falls into a depression when he discovers Hamilton is famous, whereas he is a footnote in history.
All that is noted about Higgintoot online is that he graduated from Dartmouth and died of dysentery.

Beyond his connection to Isaac Higgintoot as Alexander Hamilton, Lin-Manuel Miranda would also make a great cameo inGhostsbecause he has worked with Utkarsh Ambudkar previously, and they’re close friends. It would be fun for the actors to bring a musical element to the series, even though I realize Ambudkar’s character can’t actually see the ghosts. Sincemost of the ghosts in the show are associated with New Yorkand the area in some way, I’d say there is a feasible way for Hamilton to appear as a ghost in the series, since he was shot in Greenwich Village.
Ben Franklin Appeared In A Ghosts Flashback
Ghostsalready had a Founding Father cameo, and Miranda’s cameo could work similarly.Neil Crone appeared as Ben Franklinin two episodes of season 2. That said, Crone’s character appeared as a flashback rather than a ghost. The flashback was from Isaac Higgintoot’s memories since he knew Franklin during the Revolutionary War era. It’s clear that Higgintoot also knew Alexander Hamilton, which means that Miranda could also appear in Isaac’s memories. That said, I hope he appears as a ghost rather than a memory.Miranda needs to feature alongside Ambudkarand interact with the entireGhostscast.
The Ben Franklin character features inGhostsseason 2, episode 8, “The Liquor License,” and episode 10, “The Christmas Spirit, Part Two.”
While ghosts typically have to die on the property to appear at Woodstone B&B, there have been a few noteworthy exceptions. InGhostsseason 3, episode 7, “Polterguest,” the ghosts learn that ghosts can either be tied to a property or a person when a famous baseball player appears attached to one of the B&B guests as a poltergeist. As such,Alexander Hamilton could also appear inGhostsas a poltergeist, attached to someone who comes to Woodstone. There is no shortage of creative ways he could be incorporated rather than being remembered by Isaac.
While I would love to see Lin-Manuel Miranda inGhostsseason 4, there’s plenty to look forward to.
This update from theGhostscast is just one of the many bigmovie and TV show reveals from SDCC 2024. The series also announced thatGhostsseason 4 will add Dean Norris and Mary Holland to the cast. Mary Holland will appear as the ghost Patience, who cued up a major cliffhanger at the end ofGhostsseason 3. Dean Norris is set to portray Samantha’s dad, and I can’t wait to see how Sam interacts with her dad around the ghosts. While I would love to see Lin-Manuel Miranda inGhostsseason 4, there’s plenty to look forward to.
