When you find yourself stuck on a puzzle or challenge and you’re sure how to progress, I use the PS5’s in-game hint feature called Game Help. It’s pretty handy for avoiding the need to get up and look up a guide on your computer or phone.
What Is the Game Help Feature on PS5?
Think of Game Help as a strategy guide, one you can quickly access from the PS5 itself. For supported games, you’ll get a breakdown of a quest, for example, and some steps can be examined to reveal a short synopsis.
Open theControl Centerby pressing thePlayStation button, then chooseGame Help. From there, it’s just a matter of picking an activity you want an explanation for. It’s far more convenient than stepping away from the PS5, I admit.

One feature I personally get the most use out of is the pins. If there’s a particularly tricky step, I pin the video (if there is one) so that it’s on the side of the screen. It does shrink the game screen a little, but I think it’s a small price to pay to keep the game moving.
you may pin any step that has a video associated with it. Those are steps marked by a little light bulb. While pinned, the video will automatically loop, so there’s no need for you to fiddle with it.

How You Can Improve Game Help
As you explore the Game Help feature on PS5, you’ll come across Community Game Help too. It’s not a separate feature, but an extension of Game Help. When you see that, it’s because another person uploaded a video to expand on a specific step, as opposed to a developer.
That visual aspect from Community Game Help is invaluable. I’m a visual learner; I like seeing how a fight or difficult puzzle unfolds rather than relying solely on text.

Come to think of it, Community Game Help is very similar to the messages you leave behind in Elden Ring. Only these have helpful videos tied to them. You can even rate them on how helpful they were!
If you want to leave behind your own helpful video, you have to enable Community Game Help:

You don’t have to participate though. In fact, I don’t recommend it if your ISP puts a cap on your data—or you just have overallpoor Wi-Fi. Videos are recorded on your behalf, so there’s no say in which guide you contribute to unless you specifically target that section of the game. Oh, and don’t worry aboutfreeing up space on your PS5; the videos are removed after they’re published.
Hopefully, Sony expands on Game Help as a whole—it has untapped potential. Expanding on the list of titles Game Help supports would be great, as well as adding new features. I wouldn’t mind a few lightweight video editing tools, not too far from what the PS5 already allows in Media Gallery.
