NewHonkai: Star Rail2.7 leaks about Tingyun’s story arc have started being shared and they may indicate a major plot twist in the near future. The return of Tingyun to HoYoverse’s turn-based RPG has long been debated, both through speculation and an increasing number of rumors and leaks. Before an official in-game teaser about Tingyun’s reappearance and recovery, there had been many mentions ofTingyun’s leaked new form inHonkai: Star Rail. Currently, these leaks are mostly related to the character’s new 5-star rating and gameplay abilities around the Fire element.
These same leaks also talk about her being a Break DMG specialist, though it is uncertain exactly how she will contribute to team comps in that regard. Following these leaks, HoYoverse officially teased Tingyun’s return by adding a small piece of dialogue in the Version 2.5 quests, where players can hear Ruan Mei talking to Tingyun and asking her questions as if she had just awakened from a deep slumber. Now, there are more leaks regarding Tingyun’s return in Version 2.7, including what may be a surprising plot twist in the overallHonkai: Star Railstory arc.

Tingyun’s Story Arc In Honkai: Star Rail 2.7 Has Leaked
The Character May Return Aligned To The Destruction
New details about Tingyun’s story arc have been leaked. The information obtained by Seele Leaks, which was then shared in a post tagged as “Questionable” onReddit, highlights that the real Tingyun fell into the grasp of Phantylia, which would explain why the Tingyun players witness die simply disappears upon the initial confrontation with the Lord Ravager’s pawns.Being taken and seemingly replicated by the Destruction’s Emanator, Tingyun fell ill, both in body and spirit, as stated in the newHonkai: Star Rail2.7 leaks. These leaks also seem to coincide with what has been presented in quests.
Seele Leaks mentions that Tingyun avoided death with the help of Ruan Mei. This rumor goes hand-in-hand with the short dialogue that is presented in the Version 2.5 quests, where Ruan Mei seems to be looking after Tingyun as the foxian awakens. The leak cites thatTingyun was reborn fighting Destruction and that the Path left a permanent mark within her body, which she needs to learn to coexist with. Furthermore, the rumors say that Tingyun became a piece in the conflicts between theAeons inHonkai: Star Rail, but she will act to change the current state of affairs.

Honkai Star Rail 2.6 Leaks: How Much Stellar Jade Is Available In The Update
Players may have access to dozens of free pulls in Honkai: Star Rail 2.6 if the leaked estimation about Stellar Jade in the update is correct.
This is where the plot twist may actually occur. So far, Tingyun’s role in the story has been limited to being used by Phantylia and then discarded altogether. She was first presented as a guide to the Astral Express on the Xianzhou Luofu, butTingyun’s role in the upcoming patches may significantly increaseif she is truly on a mission to end the conflict between Aeons and stepping up to the Lord Ravager’s touch of Destruction in some way. In fact, Tingyun may embrace Destruction to use it as a tool against the Path inHonkai: Star Rail.

Tingyun’s New Leaks May Debunk Prior Rumors In Honkai: Star Rail
The Character Was Initially Reported To Follow The Path Of The Nihility
The mentions of Tingyun’s story may end up impacting her highly rumored new form in the game, too. The first leaks about Tingyun’s new form suggested she would be a 5-star Fire character following the Path of the Nihility. However, given the story-related leak and how she is allegedly intertwined with the Destruction, that may very well be her actual Path, if her new form does become playable soon or, perhaps, in Version 2.7. This, in turn, could drastically change how she is played in combat instances inHonkai: Star Rail.
Honkai Star Rail Leaks Reveal New Update That Could Change Combat Forever
Combat in Honkai: Star Rail may undergo significant changes, according to leaks about a brand new gameplay mechanic in a future update.
As a rumored Nihility character, she would probably be focused on applying debuffs on enemies, which tends to be the main characteristic of that particular Path. In fact, her rumored status as a 5-star Fire Nihility character even prompted some comparisons to the recently released Jiaoqiu, who is also a 5-star Fire Nihility character. There was even someconcern about Tingyun’s form inHonkai: Star Railconsidering how similar she could end up being to Jiaoqiu under the same element and Path. However, if she is actually a Destruction character, that may open up more gameplay possibilities.

She could be a viable substitute for Firefly, for example, though operating differently.
For now, however, these leaks, rumors, and speculation should all be taken with a grain of salt, as they may be completely inaccurate or simply subject to change as HoYoverse works on the new version of the foxian. Her return is all but confirmed given the in-game dialogue, so it is only a matter of time before she reappears and, hopefully, becomes a 5-star playable unit with a completely different gameplay kit than the currently available 4-star Tingyun inHonkai: Star Rail.
