How to Connect to Spotify With Alexa
Spotify can be connected to a range of Echo devices, including the Dot, Pop, Spot, Show, and Tap. Before you may play audio from Spotify on your Echo device, you’ll need toconnect the Spotify app to your Alexa account.
To do this, head into the Alexa smartphone app and open theMoretab in the bottom-right corner of the screen. Then, go toMusic & More > Settings > Link New Service. Here, you’ll be able to selectSpotifyfrom the list.
After selecting the Spotify option, you’ll be taken to the Alexa Skills page. Here, you’ll need to enable the skill, which will then take you to the Spotify login page.

How to Control Spotify With Alexa
Once you’ve got the Spotify skill set up on your Alexa app, you can control Spotify via Alexa using your voice. If you have Amazon Music and Spotify, Alexa will usually play Amazon Music by default unless you specify that you want to play audio from Spotify. But worry not, you can set Spotify as the default music app for your Echo speakers in the Alexa app.
To do this, head to the Spotify skill in the Alexa app and go toMore > Music & More,and tap on thesettings cog. ChooseFamily Default Servicesand then chooseSpotifyas the default app for the three prompts listed.
Or, for example, if you use Spotify for music and Amazon Music for podcasts, you may set the former as default for “Alexa, play music” and the latter as default for “Alexa, resume my podcast”.
