If you violate YouTube’s Community Guidelines, you may receive a warning on your account. Here’s what to do if you want to remove a warning from your YouTube channel.
1. Complete a Policy Course Within 90 Days
When you go against YouTube’s Community Guidelines, YouTube sends you a warning and lets you know which policy you violated. For instance, it could be related tobanned content topics you may’t talk about on YouTube.
You can then take a corresponding course to remove the warning. YouTube’s educational training courses are designed around specific policies. They allow you to identify where you fell short and better understand what’s expected of you. Completing the relevant course will help you avoid repeating the same mistakes.
YouTube removes the warning on your channel when you complete a course and don’t violate that specific policy again within 90 days. But you’ll get your first strike if you violate it again.
YouTube’s Community Guidelines and the three-strike system still apply. Under the strike system, users who get three strikes lose their channels.
2. Appeal the Warning With YouTube
YouTube allows you to appeal a warning if you believe it was issued incorrectly. To appeal a warning, open YouTube Studio, select theChannel violations cardon yourDashboard, and chooseAppeal. If YouTube rejects your appeal, you can still take the training course to have the warning removed.
You can also complete the course and appeal the warning; you don’t have to choose one option. The whole point is to avoid getting strikes to reduce the chances of your channel getting banned from YouTube. If you don’t take action, the lifetime warning will remain on your channel, and you’ll receive a strike if you violate any other policy.
Avoid Getting a Strike on YouTube
You wouldn’t want your flow interrupted because you violated YouTube’s policies. Steer clear of strikes by taking the relevant course when you receive a warning and treading carefully for the three months following that.
