Too Hot To Handleseason 6 is well underway, and I think the show needs to end after this season. With the introduction of Bad Lana and the banishment twist, I hoped that the series might evolve and become more entertaining. Between wannabe influencers chasing clout and existing models pretending to mature,Too Hot To Handlehas become nothing more than a breeding ground for young, hot singles who are out for fame.

It’s a variation on theLove Islandtheme, asToo Hot To Handlebrings attractive singles together in a villa - they believe they’ll be able to party and hook up. Then, the premise shifts - cast members are shocked when they find out they’re not allowed to engage in romantic acts without draining money from a prize fund. Unfortunately, I think the show has run its course. Here’s why.

Contestants Aren’t Genuine
They’re Only On Too Hot To Handle For Clout
It can be difficult to figure out reality TV contestants' intentions when they choose to go on Netflix shows, but the cast members have definitely gotten less genuine over time. WhenToo Hot To Handleseason 1 first aired, the singles weren’t aware of the show’s premise. While Netflix producers tricked cast members into believing they were on a different fake series for subsequent seasons, their ruse never had the same effect, as it had already been exposed. In the inaugural season,Too Hot To Handlecast members were there to have fun. Clout probably wasn’t their motivation.
Too Hot To Handlehas grown predictable and boring despite the changes in season 6.
Now,only the thirstiest clout chasers star inToo Hot To Handle. Their desire to grow influencer brands is barely concealed during the show. I don’t think there’s a single genuine cast member onToo Hot To Handleseason 6, and Louis Russell and Flavia Laos Urbina seem especially insincere. Both chose to return after their own disastrous seasons.
They Don’t Care About Lana’s Rules
Despite knowing the premise of the show, theToo Hot To Handlecast members keep hemorrhaging money. Katherine LaPrell wasted thousands of dollars with Louis and then did the same with bad boy Charlie Jeer. The cast members don’t seem to care at all about winning the money. In season 1, cast members split the pot equally. However, in subsequent seasons,cast members waste a lot of money towards the beginning and then grow as human beings. This causes Lana to name the reformed troublemakers the winners.
I think the currentToo Hot To Handlecast members have noticed this pattern and leaned into misbehaving in an attempt to win money in the end. While this is smart gameplay, it ultimately defeats the purpose of the show.Too Hot To Handleused to be fun to watch, but I don’t enjoy it anymore. Not every reality TV show needs 20 seasons. Therefore, it’s time for Netflix to come up with something new.
