One character who many have inquired about is the bounty hunter Boba Fett, especially after the first trailer for the game showed thetransportation of Han Solo in carbonite to Jabba’s Palace. Boba Fett had a large role in this transportation during theWar of the Bounty Huntercomics, further stoking speculation that he would appear. However, by the time Kay meets Jabba the Hutt in his palace, the carbonite has already been placed prominently on display, suggesting these events have already played out. Still, there was plenty of potential for Boba to show up in Kay’s story, as the crime lord Sliro placed a Death Mark on her, resulting in many being out to collect the bounty on her head.

Star Wars Outlaws Review: Dazzling Hives Of Scum & Villainy

Star Wars Outlaws focuses on a grimier, seedier side of the universe with a rich, detailed open world that features both new and legacy characters.

Many Might Not Spot Boba Fett

Many believed Boba Fett wouldn’t appearinStar Wars Outlawsafter creative director Julian Gerighty’s previous comments that most of the assassins and bounty hunters players will encounter “are ones that [Massive Entertainment] created specifically for the game.” For the most part, this statement rings true, as Kay is escaping Vail, a new bounty hunter hired by Sliro. However, Boba Fett is inStar Wars Outlaws, but unlike hiscameo in titles such asStar Wars Jedi: Survivor, it is extremely easy to miss him entirely.Boba’s cameo occurs shortly after Nix is captured, with Hoss losing a game of Sabacc and handing over the lovable Merqaal companion to pay his debt, much to Kay’s dismay.

After a brief flashback sequence that shows how Kay and Nix first met, with her freeing him from a cage as she and her mother, Riko, were on a job, players get control of Kay once again as she goes about tracking down Nix to free him once again. After interrogating Hoss as to who Nix could have gone to, Kay goes about infiltrating Jabba’s Palace to get him back. Here, when entering a vent, if players look to the left, they will be able to see Boba Fett talking to other characters around a table. However, if players are focused on just pressing forward to find Nix, they may not opt to look around in the vents and may complete the game without ever spotting Boba Fett.

Star Wars Outlaws - Boba Fett cameo

This mission and cameo occurs as part of the main campaign and is accessible to all players. A different Jabba the Hutt-centered mission,Jabba’s Gambitis exclusive to the Season Pass, but this focuses on ND-5 repaying his debt to Jabba and is largely standalone from the rest of the campaign.

It’s a shame Boba Fett doesn’t have a larger role inStar Wars Outlaws, as he is clearly an active bounty hunter at this time on one of the main planets Kay visits, and it would make sense for him to at least try to claim the bounty on her head. Still, having a nod to the fan-favorite character is better than omitting him entirely.
