It’s that time again: MWC 2025 is just around the corner, and heaps of leading tech companies are waiting to launch shiny new tech. There’s a great deal to be excited about, and the MakeUseOf team is going to bring you the best of the event directly from the floor.
What Is MWC 2025?
MWC (Mobile World Congress) is one of the biggest tech events of the year, where leading tech companies from around the globe showcase the latest gadgets, software, and, lately, innovations in the AI space. Held annually in Barcelona, Spain, this year’s event runs from March 3 to August 21, 2025.
If you’re interested in the latest tech—whether smartphones, wearables, tablets, laptops, or communication technology—and want to see where the industry is headed, MWC is the event to watch. As always, many major tech brands are hosting launches at MWC 2025, and here’s what I’m excited about and how you can follow along with one of the year’s biggest tech events.

Unlike most major tech brands, Samsung and Apple don’t attend MWC, hosting their own events instead. However, Google does have a booth at the event, mainly showcasing the latest features and updates for Android.
I’m Excited to See What These 4 Companies Bring to MWC 2025
Among the tranches of news set to launch from MWC, there are a few tech companies I’ll be keeping a close eye on—and so should you.
While we don’t see Nothing’s phones as often in the US, Carl Pei’s brand has been gaining serious attention. Last year, the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus was one of thebest battery-focused smartphones, and now the company is set to reveal its successor, the Nothing Phone (3a) series, at MWC 2025.

Nothing has already shown off the design of the two new phones, although the names are still under wraps. We do know they’ll be powered by a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset, which should make them decently powerful (though a generation behind the latest Snapdragon 8-powered devices). I’m also intrigued to get some hands-on time with the Nothing Phone 3a’s periscope telephoto lens. Nothing’s MWC event is scheduled for March 4 at 10:00 GMT.
TCL is well-known for its affordable smart TVs in the US and has confirmed that it will showcase its latest products at MWC 2025. TCL introduced the TCL 60 XE NXTPAPER 5G at CES 2025 but didn’t announce availability. MWC could be the perfect time for that.
At MWC 2024, Lenovo amazed us with a transparent ThinkBook concept laptop. This year, the company is back with a booth at MWC, and serial tech leakerEvan Blasssuggests we’ll see a new Magic concept that adds up to two extra displays alongside the main screen. Lenovo is also rumored to showcase a solar-powered Yoga laptop concept.
While Xiaomi doesn’t officially sell its smartphones in the US, it’s still a big name in tablets and fitness tracking devices. In 2024, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra was unveiled and won our award for one of thebest phones of MWC 2024. This year, Xiaomi is launching its successor, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, on June 28, 2025.
Like past Ultra models, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra is more camera-focused than ever. I’m excited to see how it stacks up in real-world use.
More Brands to Watch at MWC: Honor, Tecno, Realme, and More
In addition to these brands, there will be plenty of other smartphone makers and tech companies at MWC 2025. Honor is set to showcase its “Alpha Plan,” highlighting new AI innovations and products. The company is also expected to unveil a cross-device connectivity solution that allows seamless sharing with iOS devices.
Tecno introduced several laptops, smartphones, and concept devices at MWC 2024. This year, it’s returning to launch its upgraded CAMON 40 smartphone and showcase new features in its AI ecosystem—including some rather intriguing AI glasses that I can’t wait to try. Other brands like Realme, ZTE, and HMD are also launching new devices, while MediaTek and Qualcomm will be on the show floor showcasing the latest innovations in on-device AI and communication technology.
I’m particularly interested to see how MediaTek’s new Dimensity 7400 and 7400X SoCs hold up versus Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite—it’s an exciting time for smartphone chipsets. Interestingly, MediaTek is also launching its 5G-Advanced M90 modem at MWC 2025, which will enable satellite communication and peak download speeds up to 12Gbps!
