Photo editing doesn’t have to be complicated, and Canva proves it. It’s features are a blend of creativity and convenience. What’s more, many of its best features are free to use—no subscription needed.
Editing with Canva’sBlurtool is one of the best ways tomake your designs pop. you’re able to blur specific parts of the image, allowing you to make specific subjects stand out. The app also lets you choose blur intensity. The further you move the slider to the right, the more noticeable the in-image blur will be.

You can fine-tune your brush size to ensure you only edit the parts you want. However, editing the whole picture is my favorite way to use Blur. By moving the intensity slider to the right, I can make the image more blurry if I want. I normally use this feature to add extra elements (e.g. logos).
As useful as this tool, I still recommend getting the aperture right in-camera. You canuse Portrait Modeif you have an iPhone, for example. Use Blur in Canva to support your designs or make subtle adjustments.

you may use manytools to colorize black-and-white photos, including Canva. The feature analyzes images you upload to add colors; I’ve tried it with images I desaturated myself, and it’s pretty accurate. However, it’ll also work with old pictures without a color option.
I particularly like how I can undo the effects by just clicking the undo icon if they’re incorrect. Once Canva has colorized the image, doing any other edits becomes more straightforward.

3Auto Focus
Auto Focusblurs every part of your picture apart from a specific area. Like the Blur tool, you can choose the intensity. For better results, keep your slider more to the left.
The focus position slider shows you the in-focus part of your picture. I’ve used a lot of photo editing apps, and for controlling specific areas, this is one of the best. I even recommend using it above Linear Gradient in Lightroom.

Auto Focus works best for portraits and pictures of food. But you can also experiment with other subjects.
BadTV is a fun editing filter with five options: Retro (my personal favorite), Tube, Fuzz, VHS, and Warp.

Thick distortandFine distortare two of the most important BadTV editing tools. The more you move these sliders to the right, the more your image will look like a poor TV signal. I like playing withScanlines width, too, for making my picture look more retro.
TheScanlines amountfeature, meanwhile, is great for adding some texture to your images.RetroandFuzzare my two favorite BadTV filters for most photos, and you can use them in numerous circumstances.
5Specific Color Editing
While I love editing colors in Lightroom, I sometimes wish that the app offered more specific color-editing tools. For example, I’d love to access my image’s specific colors more quickly. Thankfully, Canva lets you do this.
The feature is available inAdjust > Color edit. The number of colors you see here will depend on your image. In the example below, I could only see one. Once I’ve clicked on a dot, I can alter the hue, saturation, and brightness.
This feature helps me save time and fine-tune my edits. It also works well with otherhidden Canva features, such asStyles.
While I don’t recommend using Canva above Lightroom and Photoshop for heavy editing, the app still has several excellent features. Editing specific colors is nice, and I love some of the in-app effects you may apply to your photos. Learning how to use each of these is simple, too.
