In anannouncement first shared by AIPT, the latest class ofAvengers Academysuperheroes was unveiled, and the line-up is stacked with some of the most exciting Marvel creations of the past several years. In addition to thelatest incarnation of Juggernaut, and the heroic grandson of Norman Osborn,the team will include: Blade’s daughter Bloodline, the mutant Escapade, the hero known as “Captain America of the Railways,” and the Inhuman fan favorites Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur.

Marvel will want to keep the stakes high for its latestAvengers Academyrun; the reputations of comics' most beloved superheroes are forged under the most extreme circumstances, and the newAcademysquad will be no exception.
In their announcement ofAvengers Academy: Marvel Voices, Marvel set expectations high, by offering a tantalizing plot synopsis:
The next generation of heroes is on the rise…but what they become – and what they will face – will shock you. School’s now in session – and already under attack!
By design, this leaves a great deal of room open for fan interpretation, andMarvel faithful can expect anticipation to continue rising significantly as the debut of the series approaches.“What they become” is, of course, immediately going to pique astute readers' curiosity – as one would expect them to eventually become Avengers. The fact that there might be a different future in store for them will certainly keep readers guessing.
Similarly, “whatthey will face” – as opposed to who – is nearly as intriguing. It is possible Marvel is going to force its youngest, most inexperienced hero team into a confrontation with a force much larger than anything they are prepared for. Like Kid Juggernaut, Red Goblin is a young heroic character who taps into the complexities of Marvel’s past, while remixing and reimagining the possibilities of its future. Normie Osborn – son of Harry, grandson of Norman Osborn, and thusa third-generation Goblin– and his Red Goblin symbiote suit are, naturally, steeped in the lore of theSpider-Manfranchise, butthe character has truly come into prominence as his own hero within the past few years.Avengers Academy: Marvel Voiceswill continue that trend, by putting him on the most engaging new team the company has to offer.
Just like his Goblin predecessors, and like any symbiote-wearer, Normie Osborn has struggled at times with his worst impulses, fighting an internal battle to stay on the hero side of the Marvel Universe equation. While that tension could play intoAvengers Academy, the series also presents an opportunity to firmly establish Red Goblin as an unequivocally heroic character.
