For every nice curveball you throw, one is added to the global total, and this is increased every time any player throws one. Once each reward level is completed, it will be unlocked, and thosebonuses will be available for the remainder of the event. The overall number of nice curveballs that need to be thrown has not yet been confirmed. In other global challenges, this only happens once players have completed the previous levels.

To throw a nice curveball, you should wait until the circle around the Pokémon you are trying to catch is at its biggest to give yourself the best window for it to be a nice throw. Curveballs can be executed by spinning the ball before you throw it towards a Pokémon.
Throughout the event, there will also be event-themed field research tasks that will be available to all players. These will reward encounters with Pokémon featured in the event and additional items.
