Many of these events involve promo cards as prizes, either through Wonder Picks (like thenew Mass Outbreak event) or via special one-card promo packs.

Pokémon TCG Pocket’s Upcoming Bulbasaur & Magnemite Wonder Pick Event Explained

Bulbasaur And Magnemite Promo Cards To Appear In Wonder Pick Pulls

The new promo cards are tied to two separate events. The Bulbasaur and Magnemite promo cards will be available through Wonder Picks, which will periodically appear for players.Chansey Wonder Picks cost two Wonder Stamina to pull fromand players have a 1 in 5 chance of pulling the card they want. The previous Meowth Wonder Pick event often featured duplicates of the same card within a Wonder Pick selection, increasing those odds by at least a bit.

The other promo cards will be tied to an upcomingVenusaur solo battle event, similar to the Lapras ex event in which players battle against several themed decks controlled by a computer opponent. The decks should feature Venusaur, which means that players should build a Fire-type deck before the event launches.Presumably, the new promo cards will come as rewards for defeating the decks. Players should receive a one-card promo pack every time they defeat the deck, with Venusaur and the other cards available as potential prizes. Some flair and accessories featuring Venusaur should also be available as prizes.

Our Take: Wonder Pick Events Need Improvement

Wonder Stamina Is Too Precious Of A Resource To Waste On Weak Cards

The current Mass Outbreak Wonder Pick event shows thatPokémon TCG Pocketneeds to work on these events. Wonder Stamina can be spent on a chance to collect hard-to-find cards, so if you’re not a completionist, it’s hard to justify 2 or 3 Wonder Stamina on more mundane cards. Even promo cards like Bulbasaur and Magnemite don’t have the same drawas a chance to collect the Illustration Rare Bulbasaur card from a different Wonder Pick. Hopefully, the bonus picks in the event offer some alternative selections.
