The End of the Inquisitorious Does Not Mark the End of the Inquisitors
A New Inquisitor Will Make Their Final Stand Against the New Republic
Immediately preceding the events ofA New Hope, the Emperor officially deemed the Inquisitorious as an obsolete organization, believing that the last vestiges of the Jedi Order had been purged. Conveniently, most of the Inquisitors died beforeA New Hope;however, Vader’s constant machinations against the Emperorcould have planted hidden cells of the Jedi hunters throughout the galaxy. There is currently one known Inquisitor who survived the end of the Empire, Marrok. Unfortunately, little is known about the former Jedi untilMarrok’s reemergence in the Disney+Ahsokaseries, where he served as an undead mercenary for Morgan Elsbeth.

The Inquisitorious’ Mission Ends When the Jedi End
As Long as the Jedi Remain, the Inquisitors Still Have Purpose
The Inquisitorious was designed for one purpose: to purge the galaxy of the Jedi. Once Jedi themselves, prospective Inquisitors were tortured and trained to reject their past and fully embrace the rhetoric that the Order was to be blamed for the galaxy’s ruination. Serving as an independent faction overseen by Darth Vader, the Inquisitors would often come into conflict with the legitimate agencies of the Galactic Empire. To the Inquisitorious, the politics of the Empire were considered an arbitrary force second to their true mission. To this point, the Jedi hunters were well-trained to persist until their mission was completed.
