The Boys season 4’s most exciting Supernatural reunion can’t happen after the Amazon show’s recent twist, but season 5 may be able to rectify it.
President Singer Uses Bobby Singer’s Iconic Supernatural Lines
“Balls” & “Idjit” Are Both Said In The Boys Season 4 Finale
President Robert Singer plays a fairly large role inThe Boysseason 4, episode 8, as Homelander and Victoria Neuman’s plot to assassinate him unfolds in the finale. TheStarlight shapeshifter doesn’t succeedat killing Singer, but she comes close — and a good portion of the episode is dedicated to her trying. Just before the deadly Supe attacks the president and The Boys,Singer uses two of Bobby Singer’s iconic phrases fromSupernatural: “idjit” and “balls.”
As Singer and The Boys are fighting off the deadly Supe, Singer uses two of Bobby Singer’s iconic phrases fromSupernatural: “idjit” and “balls.”

“Idjit"is how Bobby Singer pronounces “idiot” inSupernatural, andBeaver’s character intentionally says the insult the same way inThe Boysseason 4. Annoyed that The Boys failed to kill Neuman, he calls MM an “idjit"after theyretreat to a bunker. There’s no way this line is coincidental, and the fact that he mumbles “balls” immediately after makes it even better. These are both phrases Bobby Singer often says inSupernatural, and it’s fun to see Beaver using them inThe Boysas well.
President Singer’s Character Name Is Also A Supernatural Easter Egg
President Singer drops two Supernatural references during The Boys season 4’s finale, but that’s not the only way that Beaver’s character nods to the CW show. His name is also aSupernaturalreference, as it’s nearly identical to his CW character’s. Beaver portrays Bobby Singer inSupernatural, andThe Boysmakes a slight change to this by swapping Bobby out for Robert. As Bobby is a nickname for people called Robert, both of Beaver’s roles essentially have the same name. It’s one ofThe Boys’best reminders that Kripke worked onSupernaturalfirst.
