Tired of scrolling through an endless feed of irrelevant content on Threads? Let’s fix that now. Here are some tips you can apply to curate a more personalized and enjoyable Threads feed.
1Follow Relevant Accounts, Unfollow Irrelevant Ones
The first step towards a better Threads feed is to be selective about who you follow. Chances are that you follow the same people on Threads as you do on Instagram. This would be fine except that both platforms work differently.
Instagram’s multimedia vs. Thread’s text-focused approach means you don’t want to blindly carry over your Instagram following to Threads. You want to only follow accounts that consistently post content on Threads, not those that simply repost what they posted on Instagram (that you’ve already seen).

You also want to look out for new accounts that share content that resonates with you. This will significantly reduce the clutter in your feed and ensure that the content you care about appears more frequently.
2Switch to the Following Feed
Threads offers two feed options: an algorithmic and a following feed. The algorithmic feed is curated based on your past interactions, while the following feed displays posts from accounts you follow in chronological order.
If you did No.1 above correctly, your Following feed would be filled with more hits than misses of posts you like. You canswitch to the Following feed on Threadsby tapping on theiconabove your feed and swiping right.

Using the Following feed often means you get to see less content. However, you can fix that by following more people who share content you like. Your following-to-follower ratio will be higher, but your experience on the app will be better.
3Use the “Not Interested” Feature
Threads has a feature that allows you to mark content as “Not interested”. This tells the algorithm to show you less of that type of content. When an unwanted post comes up in your feed, tap thethree-dot iconand selectNot interested.
4Hide Words You Don’t Want to See Content About
If there are specific topics you’d rather avoid, use the Hidden Words feature. you’re able to hide a word by going toProfile > Settings > Privacy > Hidden Words. Here, you can hide offensive words as well as custom words that you want to avoid. Hiding words prevents posts containing those words from appearing in your feed.
5Mute Irrelevant Accounts
Sometimes, you may not want to unfollow someone completely but would prefer to see less of their content. Muting is an excellent compromise, allowing you to hide their posts without unfollowing. This is particularly useful for accounts that you need to maintain a connection with for personal reasons.
You can mute an account by tapping thethree-dots iconon any of their posts and selectingMute.

6Only Engage Content You’d Like to See More Of
Engagement signals to the platform what content you enjoy. This is especially important when using the For You feed. Liking, commenting, and sharing posts that you find valuable tells the algorithm to show you more of that type of content.
7Save Posts You Love
When you find a post that truly resonates with you, save it. Not only does this create a personal collection of content for you to revisit, but it also signals to the algorithm the kind of content you value most.
Saving a post on Threadsis as easy as tapping thethree-dot iconon a post and selectingSave. you may view your saved posts by going toProfile > Settings > Saved.

There are likely other tricks you could apply to improve your Threads experience. However, these are enough to give you control over your feed. Applying these tips will help you curate a feed that brings you exactly what you want.
