ThoughSweet Homedoes provide several hints that there is a potential romantic storyline for Cha Hyun-su, ultimately he does not end up with any character inSweet Homeseason 3’s ending. This strives against K-drama convention, which often has at least some form of romantic sub-plot regardless of genre. However, this works well forSweet Home. The lack of romance gives more focus to Hyun-su’s developmentand internal struggle as he succumbs more and more to the monster inside of him. However, there is one character that Hyun-su looks likely to end up with after the show’s finale.
Sweet Home 3 Continued To Hint At Hyun-su & Eun-yu Having Feelings For Each Other
Their Relationship Has Built From Season 1
ThroughoutSweet Home, it was suggested that there would be a romantic sub-plot between Cha Hyun-su and former ballerina Lee Eun-yu (Go Min-si). When they first met in season 1, Eun-yu expressed no interest in him. However, the gradual escalation of the viral outbreak drew them closer together and made them each other’s biggest allies. This continued into the show’s second season. Even despite Hyun-su’s lack of screen time, it was obvious that he was a very important character to Eun-yu, and it was even implied that Hyun-su was the character she was so avidly searching for in season 2.
Sweet Homeis the second K-drama Song Kang and Go Min-si have starred in together, with both actors playing leading roles in the romance K-dramaLove Alarm.

Although Hyun-su felt stuck between two worlds, he shared his feelings for Eun-yu in season 3. Recently turned neo-human, Eun-hyeok (Lee Do-hyun), even noted that Eun-yu was Hyun-su’s first love.Hyun-su’s growing feelings heightened in the season 3 finaleas he goes in search of Eun-yu, who hid away after becoming symptomatic. He states that he would turn Eun-yu back into a human if he finds her before her brother, suggesting that he cares so much for Eun-yu that he wouldn’t wish for her to go through the pains of monsterization as others had.
Though ultimately nothing comes of their relationship, the final moments ofSweet Home season 3hint that there could be more to their relationship following its end.Sweet Homeends with Eun-hyeok and Hyun-su watching Eun-yu walk across a rooftop, similar to the one they had in Green Home. Eun-yu’s blank expression suggests that she has most likely been turned into a neohuman. However, there is also a possibility that Hyun-su found Eun-yu first and turned her back into a human. Either way,Hyun-su could express his feelings for Eun-yu and begin a relationship with herin the future.

Why Sweet Home Season 4 Is Not Happening (Was It Cancelled?)
Song Kang’s hit Netflix horror K-drama comes to an end as Sweet Home season 3 will be the show’s final, but why isn’t season 4 happening?
Ji-su Is Hyun-su’s Love Interest In Sweet Home’s Webtoon
Her Netflix Counterpart Died In Sweet Home Season 2
While theNetflix K-dramaputs a large focus on the budding romantic relationship of Hyun-su and Eun-yu,Sweet Home’s webtoon counterpart deals with Hyun-su’s romantic feelings very differently. In the webtoon, Eun (Eun-yu) has a crush on Hyun (Hyun-su), but her feelings are not reciprocated as Eun is depicted to be several years younger than the 18-year-old Hyun. Instead, Hyun has romantic feelings for another one ofSweet Home’s best female characters: Yoon Ji-su (Park Gyu-young).

ThoughYoon Ji-su was killed inSweet Home2, her webtoon counterpart played a much bigger role in Cha Hyun-su’s story. Ji-su and Hyun did not get along at first, but Ji-su acted as Hyun’s voice of reason. She helped to ground Hyun and was the only person who could help him retain his human form. Their mutual feelings for one another grew throughout the webtoon, with Ji-su and Hyun reuniting at the end of the comic. However,Ji-su and Hyun’s relationship afterSweet Home’s ending is left to interpretation.
In the webtoon, Yoon Ji-su is also said to have resembled the main character of Maria inMaria From The Sky. This is a fictional animation series that Hyun loved and is said to have wanted to watch before ending his life. However, Hyun would not be able to do this thanks to the monster outbreak.
Yoon Ji-su’s importance to the webtoon adaptation makes her premature death andPark Gyu-young’sSweet Home 3absenceall the more disappointing. While Go Min-si’s Eun-yu did prove to be a great female lead forSweet Home, it’s sad that it came at the expense of another fantastic character who could have had an even bigger role in the series. Despite this, Eun-yu and Hyun-su’s on-screen relationship seems to end on the same note as Ji-su and Hyun’s, leaving fans to fill in the blanks about whereSweet Home’s leading romance goes next.
