In the lead-up toAbsolute Power, Green Arrow has beenworking for Amanda Waller, and not everyone is happy about Oliver switching sides. The villainous Bright has made it very clear that he wants Ollie dead, and the only reason he hasn’t acted on these desires is because Waller needs Oliver alive. But exactlywho Bright is and why he wants Ollie dead is unclear. Very little is known about Bright or his origins, but considering Amanda Waller has been gathering allies from alternate Earths, the one thing known is that Bright is from a parallel reality, and it seems he was a close ally to Ollie in this reality — before something happened between them.

Considering Bright is from an alternate Earth, he could quite literally be anyone.

All that’s clear about Bright’s history is that he used to be friends with Oliver Queen before he was transformed into this current state. Considering his hatred of Ollie, it’s possible that Ollie was responsible for Bright’s disfigurement. But considering Bright is from an alternate Earth, he could quite literally be anyone. He could be Roy Harper, he could be Bruce Wayne,he could even be Black Canary; none of it’s out of the question. With alternate realities,it’s possible the Ollie who betrayed him was even a villain, which is why Bright might feel justified in siding with Amanda Waller on this Earth.
