Since the fall of Krakoa the revolutionary Cyclops has been leading a heroic X-Men team from his base in Alaska, while Havok has disappointingly been working asleader of X-Factor, a government-run mutant team who is forced to use the Clik Clok app to gain fame.
X-Factor#8, from writer Mark Russell and artist Bob Quinn, follows Alex’s X-Factor team after they are assigned a mission to hunt down Charles Xavier, who hasescaped imprisonment at Graymalkin Prison, which leads directly toa confrontation with Cyclops and his X-Men, a fight that can be seen in Gred Land’s cover for the explosive issue.

Havok and Cyclops have always had an… intense… sibling rivalry, with Alex Summers consistently frustrated by the respect Scott receives from the heroic community as the leader of the X-Men. Since Havok’s introduction, before he and Scott knew they were brothers, there was tension between the two heroes, which exploded afterAlex began dating Scott’s ex-wife, the then-secret clone of Jean Grey, Madelyne Pryor. While Scott is indisputably the more respected and revered Summers brother, Alex is persistent and wildly powerful, once even taking down the Incredible Hulk with his energy conversion and generation.

Now that Alex is leading X-Factor, a corrupt government-run strike team, he is going to come face to face with his failures as a mutant community leader when he is forced to battle his brother Scott, a true revolutionary and hero. But if the two brothers do end up fighting, who would win?
Havok And Cyclops Cannot Use Their Powers On Each Other

Interestingly, it does not matter whose mutant ability is “stronger,” because the Summers brothers possess immunity from the other’s powers, something that often happens in mutant families.Alex and Scott cannot harm each other with their energy blasts, at least not directly. Scott is a tactical genius and controls his eye blasts incredibly well, while Alex tends to act without thinking and go overboard with his powers. While it might seem likely that Scott would beat Alex in a fight, Alex is very scrappy and knows how to push his brother’s sensitive buttons, which could give him a real advantage.
The Summers brothers have always been intrinsic parts of theX-Menmythos, and if the two heroes cannot find a way to communicate, then it looks like their upcoming confrontation may just be the latest in a long line of familial disputes.
