I’ve Changed My Mind About Who Pit Girl Is In Yellowjackets, Even Though It Would Be A Disappointing Twist
The identity of “Pit Girl” from Yellowjackets' premiere remains a mystery, but season 3, episode 7 changes which character is the most likely victim.
Highlighting the teens’ increasing desperation,Travis believed killing Lottie would rid them of one of their biggest obstacles to getting back home.Lottie, Shauna, and Tai all held their ground by refusing to leavethe wilderness, resulting in the others also being compelled to stay. Travis had seen Lottie kill Edwin, corrupt others regarding her cult-like support of the Wilderness, and, now, prevent them from being rescued, so he thought the only option left was to kill her. However, when Lottie walked over the pit which Travis had previously collapsed with a log, the Wilderness’ powers kept her from falling.

The Death Pit Is Travis' Tragic Offering To The Wilderness
Travis Gave The Wilderness A Twisted New Method For Death Sacrifices
Of course, while we know that the death pit doesn’t work to kill Lottie, it will take on a role in the ritual sacrifices that the teens partake in to please the Wilderness. Travis himself sits with the other maskedYellowjacketscharactersand eats the sacrificed victim, paying tribute to the Wilderness to protect him and keep him alive – as Lottie has been advising since shortly after they first crashed. While Lottie isn’t an “offering” that Travis gives up to the Wilderness that day,he does give It a dark method for chaos, bloodshed, and cruel death in their rituals.
It begins snowing inYellowjacketsseason 3, episode 9’s ending, meaning the blizzard that happens before Pit Girl’s death should be arriving soon.
Like Shauna bleeding the victim’s body, the Antler Queen presiding over the ritual, and an unknown character cooking the body, Travis’ unique role in the ritual we see inYellowjackets’ opening scene is the builder of the death pit.Even if Travis never personally and directly kills someone, he’s indirectly responsible for at least Pit Girl’s demiseby constructingYellowjackets' stake-lined pit.
