Summary

The Settled Systems ofStarfieldare home to many dangerous criminals, who are often hunted down by the Trackers Alliance. While this faction was fairly simple at launch, it has gained new depth withStarfield’sJune 2024 update, which added new missions, items, and mechanics. One of these mechanics is more of a reward for finishing the introductory mission, but it may be more fleshed out as Bethesda adds new bounty creations.

Upon becoming a full member, the Spacefarer will gain a new faction home in the form of the Trackers Alliance HQ. This building is populated by other members of the organization, all with their own role in the organization and personal philosophy of bounty hunting. Instead of a name, they are identified by a call sign, which the player will also acquire after completing Agent No. 1’s probationary mission.

“An Instant Classic”: Starfield Review

Starfield has plenty of captivating tales and dynamic mechanics that make it an epic science fiction adventure - and an instant classic.

A Visual Bug Is Hiding More Trackers Alliance Call Signs

The Dialogue Box Is Bugged

Much like the other characters in the HQ, the player is able to select a call sign. When the dialogue allowing a callsign to be chosen appears, four or five options are shown. However, what many players are learning is thatmore options are available if the dialogue box is scrolled down.

Starfield’sdialogue interface typically shows a downward pointing arrow below the options when there are more options than initially shown, butin the case of the call sign dialogue, this arrow is absent. This has unfortunately led many players to believe that there are only four or five options when there are actually nine by default, with a hidden 10th option. This is a shame, as some of the best commentary from the Trackers Alliance members comes from the later call signs.

For the most part, however,Starfielddoes not give much importance to the specific call signs. The player does not have an option to use it in dialogue with most of the members, though there are three exceptions. The player has an option to use it in their introduction to Yuma, a bounty hunter who kills every target, but he will only ever respond, “Indeed. A strong name.” Unlike Yuma,Two-Shot, the bartender of the group, and Bloodhound, one of the oldest members, have unique dialogue for each call sign.

The Trackers Alliance Has A Special Call Sign For Completing The “Mantis” Quest

The Quest Already Rewards A Ship & Armor

Mantis is unique in that it is the only call sign which requires the completion of another mission to use it, a quest aptly named “Mantis.” Players who have successfully located and looted the secret Mantis base will walk out with anew set of equipment and a shipwhich tends to terrify opponents. WithStarfield’sadditions to the Trackers Alliance, they will also walk out with theadditional reward of being referred to as Mantis by the rest of the organization.

Mantis was essentially the Batman of theStarfielduniverse, and her reputation often preceded her. Even now, people react to her name with a sense of awe. This can take the form of spacers running away in fear, but if the player chooses Mantis as their call sign, they will learn how more reputable members of society view the name. Two-Shot entertains the idea of the Spacefarer truly being the Mantis, but ultimately wants it to remain a mystery.

Starfield The Mantis Gear Unlocked with Legendary Suit, Helmet, and BackPack

Bethesda plans to release more bounty missions for the Trackers Alliance using itsnew Creations feature. Hopefully, one of these new missions can also introduce some new call signs that, similar to Mantis, are unlocked after completing another mission. For example, maybe a player who has finishedStarfield’s Freestar Collective questlinecould choose the Ranger callsign.

Starfield

Bethesda Game Studios presents Starfield - the first original IP from the studio in twenty-five-plus years. Set in the year 2310, the United Colonies and Freestar Collective are observing a shaky truce after a war set 20 years prior. The player will customize their character as a member of a space exploration team called Constellation while navigating The Settled Systems and the conflicts between the warring factions. According to Bethesda, players can explore over 100 systems and 1000 planets to find resources and build their ships, living out their own sci-fi journeys.
